The AWID 2012 Forum featured the sessions selected through the Call for Proposals, a daily plenary session, a variety of in-depth sessions, feminist economic toolbox, and artistic/cultural sessions. In addition, the Forum programme included specialized areas as shown below.

Plenaries: Plenaries are the one place where all Forum participants come together in the same room. They provide key inputs for the conceptual framing of the Forum theme and for making connections among the many agendas and perspectives present. Read more…

In-Depth Sessions: For the first time, AWID worked with several partners to develop a series of In-Depth sessions at the Forum. These sessions, which each ran for six hours (four blocks of 1.5 hours each), were designed to provide for deeper levels of discussion on complex issues. Read more…

Feminist Economic Toolbox Sessions: Any piece of the Forum program offered an opportunity for learning, but in particular, we developed an entire session block on the first day—our “feminist economics toolbox”—dedicated to information sharing, awareness-raising, and skills-building on themes linked to economics, economic policies or other issues of key concern for feminists interested in transforming economic power. What’s more, countless women have been killed or disappeared because of their work in defense of women’s human rights and gender equality. Others have passed away due to illness, accidents, and natural disasters.  Through an engaging multi-media presentation, music and art installation Forum participants celebrated and honor the legacy of our sisters, their lives, work and passion.
